Roof and Façade Condition Assessment

Overview

SW19 were engaged by Sero to complete inspections of the roof and facades of the buildings at Fiona Stanley Hospital. The inspections included the main hospital block, central power generation block, state rehabilitation, administration buildings and multi-storey car parks.

Site Inspection

The site inspection required the identification of defects and maintenance issues to all buildings, to enable the client to implement a proactive system of defect remediation and prevention.

The initial proposal for service delivery was to utilize drones, although following recent policy changes from CASA and lengthy discussions, CASA would not permit flying. As such, SW19 developed an alternative survey methodology to provide the client with and equivalent level of service delivery.

SW19 were required to work within a comprehensive WHS system on the Fiona Stanley Site, including the development of access strategies and appropriate working at heights permits.

Outcomes

The client was provided with a comprehensive schedule of defects, with all defects plotted and located using AutoDesk. Despite the high risk nature of the project, the works were delivered safely and free from incident.
